Join our Data Platforms organization in the Data Infrastructure team as a Technical Lead.

We’re a horizontal team whose mission is to use our data to drive maximum value across the business we are today and the business we’ll be in the future.

You’ll operate across a diverse range of technologies in every layer of our data stack to make that mission a reality.

You will :

  • Lead your team to deliver a world-class data platform from the ground up.
  • Plan and delegate complex projects with broad scope.
  • Mentor and grow early career developers or engineers transitioning into Data Infrastructure from other domains.
  • Facilitate technical discussions, guiding the team toward the most effective approaches to problem solving.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure their needs are being met.
  • Build, upgrade, and maintain Data-related infrastructure & monitoring across multiple clouds and other systems & services.
  • Write performant, readable, and reusable code and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Review code for your team to ensure a high standard of technical quality across our codebases.

What you will bring to the table :

  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining a data lake and / or data warehouse.
  • Leadership skills, ranging from mentoring your own team to gaining buy-in from technical stakeholders throughout Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, with 2+ years of experience using a cloud provider.
  • Experience writing Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Deep knowledge of operational database products.
  • A get things done attitude and a product mindset you’re excited to identify places the team can deliver value, then take ownership of delivering.
  • Strong communication skills with business and technical stakeholders alike you’re skilled at balancing partnership and focus for yourself and the team.

Bonus points for :

  • Experience writing IaC in Terraform and code in Python.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts in AWS and / or Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Apache Airflow, Data Build Tool (dbt), and / or Snowflake.
  • Prior experience in Healthcare or another highly regulated industry like Finance.
  • Background as a Database Administrator, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • AWS or Azure certification(s).

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges for this position are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.

The estimated salary range for this role is $173,000- $215,000.
