$4,500 Sign on Bonus / Retention Pay : ( AMOUNTS BASED OF FTE) : As a newly hired Community Health Nurse you will receive a signing bonus of $2,500 ( For Full Time).
This bonus will be paid in one lump sum on the next regularly scheduled pay date after you start employment with Multnomah County.
Furthermore, there will be a retention incentive of $2,000 (For Full Time) after your 1-year anniversary date. This signing bonus and retention incentive is taxable, and all regular payroll taxes will be withheld.
Corrections Health Nurses receive an additional 10% hourly premium and hourly differentials for working swing ($, graveyard ($, weekends ($ shifts.

As a Community Health Nurse (CHN) with Corrections Health you will provide professional and compassionate healthcare services to justice involved individuals starting at intake with triage, care planning and management of the chronically and acutely ill while in custody, until they are released to the community or transferred to another facility.
Corrections Health personnel provide comprehensive assessments and treatment that reflects the standard of care in the community.
Our medical team partners with our mental health program and the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice to prioritize safety and quality health care aligned with the community standard for youth in custody at DEL.
Other duties include but are not limited to the following :
Respond to acute medical and mental health events and provides emergency medical care as needed, potentially resulting in a hospital send out
Evaluate, monitor, and treat drug and alcohol withdrawal
Wound care
Distribute medications
Health education
Schedule appointments with outside providers as needed for issues that require specialty care
Support transition planning for release to the community
Provide youth with overdue and / or relevant Vaccinations
STD education, screening and treatment

Minimum Qualifications / Transferable Skills* :
Possession of an appropriate and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing AND
One of the following :
An Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
BLS / CPR certification required.
Must be able to pass a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Background Check
