Our client is currently seeking a Senior Accountant with non-profit organization experience. This position is mostly remote with occasional travel to one of their PA offices.
Cash Management :
Regularly review and manage cash flow using designated tools.Serve as a backup for remote deposit processing.
Revenue Recognition and Accounting :
Collaborate with the Controller to process credit balance refunds for patients.Record monthly patient revenue recognition based on billing partner reports.
Ensure accurate and timely posting of data in the general ledger.Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations according to internal schedules.
Bank Reconciliation and Reporting :
Reconcile the organization’s bank accounts.Provide regular financial reporting to department heads, managers, and staff to support budgeting and financial management.
Grant Administration and Compliance :
Act as a Finance resource within the grant administration team.Prepare monthly release from restrictions entries for review and approval by the Controller.
Liaise with the Development Department to manage donation revenue reconciliation and assist with budget development.
Budget Preparation and External Audits :
Assist the Controller and CFO in annual budget preparation.Coordinate information requests and material preparation for external auditors.
Compliance and Communication :
Adhere to all HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.Maintain clear and effective communication within a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.3-5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.Strong knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, affiliate email, Internet, patient management systems, and financial accounting software (experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
