Position Overview
EECS Lecture Assistants will aid instructors during lecture activities. Lecture Assistants will work directly with their instructor to discuss any preparation work needed prior to lectures.
A Lecture Assistant is expected to attend every session of a particular lecture ( MWF 9am EECS 168). Lecture Assistants are not permitted access to student grades.
The goal of this job is to reduce the student to instructor ratio and to provide peer support to the students currently taking the course.

100% Duties include assisting instructors during various EECS courses. Responsibilities include lecture preparation and attendance at every session of particular lecture.
The number of hours per week is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course.
Required Qualifications
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must : 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.
- Current student in the EECS department or closely related discipline;
- Successful completion with a grade of at least a B in the EECS course or equivalent you wish to grade;

Preferred Qualifications
- Successful completion at KU with a grade of A in the EECS course you are assisting with;
- Be a student in the EECS department.

This is a POOL position to hire multiple EECS Lecture Assistants. Applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year (fall 2024 and spring 2025) and positions are filled as needed.
