Job Details
- A facility in Idaho is in need of L&D RN's to work a 13 week travel assignment.
- The nurse will be working 12 hour shifts.
Job Requirements
- ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP, Stable
- Must Have : 2 years of L&D experience and some postpartum experience
- Must be comfortable working in both L&D and Postpartum
- Must have the ability to work with high risk patients
- Must be able to circulate in c-sections
- Will NOT accept travelers with only Critical Access Hospital experience
- Will accept first time travelers
- Prefer someone who has worked in a similar size L&D and PP / MB dept
- Prefer Epic experience
Schedule Information
- Shifts & Scheduling : 7-7
- ANM will make the schedule out 6 weeks at a time, and will consider block scheduling
- Per policy staff and travelers cannot work more than 5 shifts in a row.
- Travelers are asked to stay flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
- Weekend Requirements : EOW
- Holiday Requirements : May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation
- Is there a call or standby requirement? May be called off, if needed.
Unit Specific Information
L&D Beds : 11 L&D rooms that double as triage rooms we needed
OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections : 2 CS Suites on the floor.
Triage beds : Typically 2 designated triage rooms.
Postpartum beds : 17 Postpartum Beds
Births per day? Month? Year? Variable, we average 5-6 deliveries / day, 150-180 deliveries / month
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines : 1 : 1 for Intra, 1 : 1-3 for Antepartum, 1 : 3-4 for PP / MB
- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : 30+ wks, will stabilize and ship out babies under 30 wks
- Experience or 'Must have' skills : Must have the ability to work with high risk patients
Additional Details
- Will be asked to freely float between L&D and PP / MB depending on staffing and census.
- The providers have great working relationships with the nursing staff.
- Level 3 NICU that supports 30+ wks.
- Resource Nurse- does not take a patient assignment unless absolutely necessary, will assist with triage, caring for baby at deliveries, assisting staff, and more.
