Job Details
Our estimators manage projects from the initial opportunity all the way through to completion. You will follow up on leads provided by marketing and business development, and respond to qualifying opportunities.
Key Requirement :
Experience in Construction Trades : Strong background in estimating or sales in construction, specifically with concrete, asphalt, seal coating, slurry sealing, and striping.
Plan Reading Skills : Ability to read, review, and understand civil, architectural, and structural plans, blueprints, and job material specifications.
Technical Knowledge :
- Knowledge of ADA requirements (ramps, paths of travel, slope, etc.).
- Expertise in concrete and asphalt job specifics, including equipment and material requirements.
- Familiarity with construction take-offs, measurements, and cost estimating for labor, materials, and supplies.
Client Interaction & Sales Abilities :
- Experience in qualifying leads, attending pre-bid meetings, and negotiating proposal terms and pricing.
- Strong communication skills to guide clients through project scope and execution from concept to closure.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships and generate multiyear plans for maintenance.
Project Management & Coordination :
- Ability to manage projects from pre-bid meetings through post-construction inspections.
- Lead and coordinate with superintendents, foremen, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track change orders and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
Construction Knowledge :
- Practical knowledge of construction activities, personnel management, and job scheduling.
- Ability to solve on-the-job issues and make informed decisions, while anticipating problems.
- Attention to Detail : Thoroughness in preparing RFP response documents, proposals, and estimates with an ability to track changes throughout the project.
Teamwork & Leadership :
- Experience collaborating with production teams to ensure efficient project planning and resource allocation.
- Ability to effectively supervise crews, subcontractors, and personnel, ensuring the successful completion of projects.
Adaptability in Dynamic Environments : Comfortable with diverse responsibilities and the ever-changing nature of construction activities.
