Assistant Manager Trainee :

We are looking for someone who is able to perform tasks as an assistant manager, but also possesses the communication skills to enter an environment where most staff have been with us for a very long time.  We are committed to having a harmonious atmosphere which requires  someone who is respectful to all staff and guests, who can approach problem solving in a motivational way, and most importantly, we need someone who genuinely cares about staff, is nurturing and comprehends that respect from staff is earned.  You must be willing to walk in the shoes of each staff member to fully understand their position, and truly listen to their needs and endeavor to do everything we can to improve our process.

We are not looking for anyone who needs to exhibit authority in an insensitive manner, speak down to anyone or behave in a dictatorial manner.  We are nothing without our staff, and our goal is to provide them with assistance that improves efficiency and set them up for success.

Our  hours of operation are 8-6pm.  Our shifts are from 7 : 30am-6pm.  Weekends are a must, but you can still be home by 7pm!

In terms of day-to-day operational duties, following is a list of where we need assistance :

Operations and management

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Open and close the restaurant.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to company standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in accordance with regulations.
  • Assist with preparation for private events after hours that would require pulling items listed on a spreadsheet for each portable bar and confirming that all items are properly labeled for each location and everything has been doublechecked and ready for transport.
  • Report all repairs required on everything in the restaurant
  • Provide tech support for POS terminals, printers and credit card devices

Staff management

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Develop and train existing staff on menu changes and service standards.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
  • Supervise and coach staff, including servers and kitchen personnel.
  • Customer service
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner and document each incident so we can learn from these situations
  • Ensure a positive and high-quality dining experience for all guests.
  • Inventory and finance

  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies, ingredients, and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain spreadsheet itemizing costs of goods and check for price increases
  • receiving orders, confirming accuracy and putting orders away with proper rotation
  • Waste management crosses over in all areas of the business.  Observation for a period of time is critical before we approach and execute methods to decrease waste.  Monitoring and improving in the area of waste management never ends.
  • Handle cash transactions and ensure cash registers are balanced.
  • Experience with Toast POS is preferred, but we are willing to train someone for adding or removing menu items, tracking stock counts and running reports
  • Quality control and compliance

  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure proper food handling and storage practices are followed.
  • Enforce compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and enforce restaurant policies and procedures.
  • There is room for advancement for those who show initiative, proven they have been able to master tasks listed above, and strive to take on as many responsibilities possible.
