Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Distribution Patrols in Virginia Beach, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned logistics and distribution locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and routine patrols will support a welcoming atmosphere for all personnel, while your strong communication and customer service skills will help address inquiries and concerns. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the logistics and distribution location, including the business premises and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and / or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel and / or visitors to address concerns and provide assistance as needed.
  • Adapt to varying working environments and conditions specific to logistics and distribution settings.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A valid security guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
