Hiring Opportunity : Charlotte, NCOur client is looking to hire an Mechanical Engineer for their Charlotte NC facility! Our client is an industry leader in the manufacturing of steel drums in North America and is growing throughout the country.
This individual will mainly be in charge of ensuring equipment, processes, tooling and fixtures meet all quality and capability requirements.
Qualified candidates will need to have a Bachelors degree in Engineering to include at least 5 years of experience.Responsibilities : - Create, update, and maintain all CAD drawings and files- Generate 3D Models in SolidWorks- Develop, document, and maintain project tasks and schedules to ensure they are on-time and within budget- Investigate improvements, optimization, and cost reduction opportunities in the manufacturing process- Identify capital equipment needs, create justifications, and create CER proposals- Validate all new equipment installations and upgrades- Ensure equipment, processes, tooling, and fixtures are able to meet all quality, capability, and safety requirements- Work well in coordination with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, CI, EH&S, and Quality- Actively participate in plant safety and environmental initiatives, and maintaining a safe working environment- Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting and problem-solving- Learn, coach, and mentor on continuous improvement and LEAN processes- Learn, coach, and mentor on equipment maintenance and operations- Other Duties : Include, but not limited to : Continuous Improvement Projects, Value Stream Analysis, A3"s, Kaizen Events, 6S, Safety Committee, or other duties as assigned by managementQualifications : - BS degree Engineering plus work experience totaling minimum of 10 years- Experience in mechanics, equipment, metal forming, and finishing processes- Experience in project based work- Experience with steel - Knowledge of Lean tools and applications- 3D Modeling experience required- Experience in manufacturing equipment procurement and installation,
