Summary :

Receives, cleans, sterilizes and stores surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities :

Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances.

Properly disposes of bio-hazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.Performs and documents required quality assurance testing and inspections.

Education and Certification Requirements :

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience : One (1) year of experience required.

Other Information : Can be certified as CPSDT or IAHCSMM.
