LOCATION SUMMARY :
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959.
Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. San Luis Obispo offers the excitement of a lively community while being a fifteen-minute drive from the serenity of Avila Beach, known for their natural hot springs, and Pismo Beach, known for their sand dunes and eucalyptus trees.

POSITION SUMMARY :
Works with Department Manager and Director to ensure the planning, coordination and provision of nursing care to patients on specified units and shifts.
Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to nursing and ancillary personnel, commensurate with their scope of practice.
Promotes the use of best practices in the delivery of patient care. Facilitates Lean Daily Management activities. Works collaboratively with leadership to promote professional nursing practice and behavior.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Education and Work Experience :
- High School or Equivalent : Required
- Associate's or Equivalent : Required
- Bachelor's Degree : Preferred
- Minimum one-year previous critical care, step down or telemetry experience : Required
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Previous charge nurse experience in Critical Care setting : Preferred
Licenses and Certifications :
- Current State of California Registered Nurse License : Required
- Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association : Required
- ACLS through the American Heart Association : Required
- CCRN or RNC : Preferred
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
