Job Summary :
As a key member of theTax department you will oversee all aspects of the state income taxfunction including compliance financial reporting (ASC 740)controversy support and special projects.
This role requires ahandson proactive and detailoriented approach with the ability toperform firstlevel reviews regularly.
We seek a strategic thinkerwith strong technical expertise in State and Local tax excellentcommunication skills and a proven ability to lead and mentor ateam.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
Support quarterly and annual income taxprovision process for state and local tax function ensuring ASC 740compliance Oversee review and ensure timely and accurate filing ofall state and local income tax returns Prepare and reviewcalculations of state estimated tax payments and extension filingsMonitor state and local tax laws interpret implications andcommunicate impacts to Tax leadership Manage state tax controversymatters including examinations audit defense planning and VDAprojects Support and implement strategic planning to meet companytax profile objectives Mentor and develop tax teammembers
Qualifications : I. Education :
I. Education :
- Bachelors degreerequired (Graduate degree preferred)
- CPA JD orMST a plus
II.Experience :
- 12 yearsof prior state / local income tax experience (10 with Graduatedegree)
- Experience with Big 4 accounting firmand / or large tax department of multinational companypreferred
III.License(s) / Certification(s) :
CPA certificationpreferred
Knowledge Skills &Abilities :
Strong proficiency with MS ExcelDetailoriented analytical and able to manage multiple tasks in afastpaced environment Strong written and verbal communicationskills Ability to establish and maintain effective crossfunctionalworking relationships Expertise in ASC 740 and state / local tax lawsand regulations
