The DevOps Engineer will be on a team responsible for automating and delivering our client's application systems. The individual that fills this role will be responsible for the design and implementation of the continuous delivery platform and will automate workflow.
This person will be highly motivated, focused, and proficient in implementing our client's infrastructure. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with Development and Infrastructure teams to ensure successful application and infrastructure deployment workflow.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Build, deploy, configure, and maintain our client’s application systems using automation.
- Participate with the development and infrastructure teams from architecture design up to deployment.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies that will benefit the team.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and deployment activities off-hours.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production issues.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
- BS or MS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years' experience automating and deploying software.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux Operating systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Chef configuration management tool.
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages (such as Python, Ruby, and SQL).
- Strong understanding of VMWare.
- Experience working with SQL Server and Oracle Databases.
- Experience working with Git, Jira, Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with standard CI / CD pipeline tools (such as Jenkins).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and organized with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Member of 7x24 on-call rotation.
- Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes considered a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies like Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS considered a plus.
- Knowledge of F5 Load Balancers considered a plus.
- Knowledge of Automatic Job Scheduling Software considered a plus.
- Knowledge of Oracle WebLogic or Oracle Business Intelligence Suite (OBIEE) considered a plus.
