Description & Requirements Maximus is seeking a technical Deputy Director to serve and provide expertise to a federal client in support of the Department of Education.

This is a senior-level position that will assist the Senior Director in managing the day-to-day operations of a department or departments within the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : - Work with client / customer to create technical strategies and frameworks. - Develop, implement and manage enterprise IT infrastructure.

  • Provide expert knowledge, support and guidance to business and technology teams and facilitate the collaborative development of IT solutions.
  • Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems to support organizational goals. - Prepare milestone status reports and deliveries / presentations on the system concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end-user representatives.

Project Specific Duties : Overseeing technical operations The Deputy Director is responsible for the performance and functions of the technology department or departments, ensuring that technical aspects operate effectively.

Plays an active role in day-to-day management of technical operations to be knowledgeable and aware of all issues, concerns, and requirements.

Must understand complex technical architectural topology. Creating strategies The Deputy Director will assist with the development of strategies to help the department achieve the goals set by the program.

They may also develop and follow through on ideas and timelines for projects. Decision making and problem solving Must be able to analyze complex situations and evaluate options, to make informed decisions that are aligned with the program's goals and objectives.

Will be routinely called upon to attend technical meetings and will be expected to provide relevant necessary input as it pertains to the technical stack.

Coordinating and managing staff The Deputy Director will directly manage staff and will assign tasks and support to team members and provide input for performance reviews.

Contribute to the development of team schedules, manage expectations, and career goals of the team, and any other assigned duties.

Effective team management skills are crucial in order to motivate and inspire team members to perform their best. Communicating The Deputy Director will communicate with others on the program and may also communicate with executives and leadership outside of the program.

They may prepare reports and presentations to share with these groups. Reporting Generate reports as requested from various systems and services Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.

7-10 years of relevant professional experience required. - Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

Project Specific Qualifications : - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience - 10+ years of experience managing enterprise-level technology teams perferred - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Broad understanding of ITSM and technical architecture solutions in the enterprise Additional Requirements as per contract / client : - Must Be Eligible to Obtain Government Clearance - Must be a U.

S. citizen - Must currently reside in the U.S. - Must be able to pass a criminal background check - Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans - Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance.

Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education. - Obtaining and Maintaining a PIV-I card is a requirement of this position.

PIV-I cards must be picked up in person. If applicable, new and existing employees may need to travel via car, train, or plane to a designated location to pick up their new or replacement PIV-I card.

Pay Transparency Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.

Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.

Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.

An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.

Annual Base Pay Minimum for this Position $ 130,000.00 Annual Base Pay Maximum for this Position $ 140,000.00 *
