Job Overview
This leading tech company is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team. In this role, you will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel and serve as a key resource and primary point of contact for various business teams.
You should have experience negotiating and drafting complex agreements, providing strategic business-focused advice, supporting corporate transactions and governance, and exercising strong judgment with a high level of integrity.
Ideally, you have worked in a regulated environment and are familiar with equities and options markets.
This is a hybrid role based in the New York office.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal contact for business teams in need of legal assistance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including customer agreements, vendor agreements, and NDAs.
- Handle legal work for complex agreements and strategic transactions.
- Prepare corporate governance documents, including resolutions and internal policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of regulatory and corporate filings.
- Conduct contract reviews and advise business teams on legal processes.
- Work with internal and external resources to protect the company’s intellectual property.
- Participate in industry initiatives impacting trading and other business functions.
- Liaise with regulators such as FINRA, the SEC, and others on regulatory matters.
- Manage employment-related matters, including policy updates and procedures.
- Research legal and regulatory changes relevant to the company’s market structure.
- Support confidential legal projects as necessary.
About You
- 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in a large law firm or in-house legal department.
- Expertise in corporate law, litigation, and other legal matters relevant to the company’s business.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines.
- Hardworking, strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Law degree (JD) from an accredited law school.
- NY Bar membership required.
