GENERAL SUMMARY :
Malace HR is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician to perform material structure analysis on heat-treated components and provide support for manufacturing processes.
The role requires proficiency with metallurgical testing equipment and the ability to work independently or within a team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Metallurgical Testing : Prepare heat-treated components and perform tests such as micro-hardness and case depth analysis.
- Sediment Analysis : Conduct routine sediment tests on samples related to the manufacturing process.
- Compliance : Perform testing according to guidelines outlined by metallurgists and Testing Information Sheets (TIS).
- Reporting : Maintain accurate charts, reports, and records for metallurgical and sediment processes.
- Material Approval : Approve materials based on established specifications.
- Equipment Operation : Safely operate lab equipment for metallurgical and sediment testing.
- Team Collaboration : Assist engineering teams in solving manufacturing issues.
- Safety & Housekeeping : Follow safety standards and maintain a clean lab environment.

Education & Experience :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience : Previous experience in a lab or manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
Skills & Abilities :
- Independence : Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Skills : Knowledge of metallurgical testing and lab equipment.
- Organizational Skills : Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Software Proficiency : Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
Physical Demands :
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods; ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment, which may be temperature-controlled.
