Duties :

Teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate mining courses ranging from introduction to mining to advanced mine design.

Development of a research program is expected. Responsibilities also include student advising, recruiting, service, and industry relations.

Required Qualifications :

Doctoral degree in Mining Engineering or related Engineering discipline by position start date Or MS degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience

Preferred Qualifications :

• Prior college teaching experience
• Relevant work experience in the mining or related industries
• Excellence in written / oral communication skills
• MSHA approved instructor or the ability to become one
• Have a P.E. license, or ability to obtain a Montana P.E. license within three years of hire
