Position Summary Responsible for sterility assurance monitoring of all steam and paracetic acid sterilizers located in the operating room.

We are looking for talented individuals to be part of our team. Responsibilities The Sterile Processing Core Technician demonstrates through practice a clear understanding of the instrumentation and supplies utilized during surgical procedures.
Inventories and orders supplies for operating room sterilizers and maintains prescribed levels of sterile supplies / instruments within the sterile core.
The SP Core Technician is available for rapid turnover of instrumentation as necessary. Completes decontamination and leak testing of flexible endoscopes.
Operates steam and paracetic acid sterilizers and ensures that sterilization parameters are met. The SP Core Technician works closely with the Surgery Equipment Tech to facilitate preventive maintenance and in house repairs.
Reports defective material, instrumentation, and equipment and takes appropriate action to replace or repair items. Demonstrates effective communication at all skill levels within the operating room, sterile supply and SPD.
Understands and participates in the process of case cart assembly, pulls instrumentation and assists with final assessment.
Qualifications Education / Training High school graduate or equivalent. Licensure / Certification Nationally certified through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD), and / or equivalent state certification.
