The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating and optimizing existing manufacturing processes and recommending new methods to reduce costs, waste, and lead times while enhancing product quality, specifically in GLF & Shaped Charge manufacturing.
This role involves working closely with management to identify inefficiencies in business processes and develop strategies to align business methods with financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate and Improve Manufacturing Processes : Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to ensure superior product quality, reduce cycle times and lead times, and minimize overall manufacturing costs.
- Special Project Design and Implementation : Lead and implement special projects involving capital equipment, flow optimization, automation, and support equipment.
- Vendor Interaction : Collaborate with vendors of products, equipment, parts, and tooling to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Engineering Support : Provide troubleshooting and technical support to production departments to resolve technical issues.
- R&D Point of Contact for Germany : Serve as the liaison for R&D in Germany, providing timely updates on new products and changes to existing products.
Develop, configure, and optimize manufacturing processes from inception through startup and production certification.
- Continuous Improvement : Support the organization's continuous improvement program by coaching, teaching, and mentoring employees as a key member of the Operational Excellence (Opex) group.
- Development of KPIs : Actively contribute to the development of organizational key performance indicators (KPIs) and work with department heads to achieve continuous improvement and align with the company's business goals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in quality and / or process engineering, preferably in a high-volume system assembly line environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Project Management skills, with PMP certification preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing continuous improvement methodologies including breakdown analysis, root cause analysis, CAPA, and FMEA.
- Demonstrated capabilities in PLC, drive, robotics, CNC programming, and other industrial automation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and experience with ERP / MRP systems.
