Job Summary

This position is 50% remote / 50% on site(s). Union or Union management experience is strongly preferred.

Our hiring team is seeking a candidate with the following experience :

  • Dirt / earthmoving experience : 5 years
  • 5 years advancing through roles from craft to foreman to superintendent in dirt-related work
  • 5 years of successful management as a superintendent of major industrial projects (conventional power)

Our management supports safety, quality, and continuous improvement across field operations, quality control, start-up / decommissioning and field engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide civil support for national construction projects and direct administration and training of construction personnel.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for construction execution to minimize cost and duration.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report civil performance to the Operation Manager.
  • Make staffing recommendations for civil personnel and act as liaison between construction and engineering on concrete-related matters.
  • Ensure all projects meet client civil quality standards.
  • Support site Superintendents with SOPs, resource-loaded schedules, staging plans, bill of materials, quality control plans.
  • Lead weekly civil superintendent calls focused on safety, quality, productivity, and resources.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams; share lessons learned.
  • Review project budgets / unit rates with assigned superintendent and ensure alignment with earning rules.
  • Coordinate and track equipment assignments and maintain related records.
  • Direct corrective actions for discipline or performance issues; involve Human Resources as required.
  • Enforce division policies and provide supervision, training, and performance management of direct reports.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement; support change management and continuous improvement activities.
  • Travel to support sites as needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of construction supervisory experience within the industrial construction industry; 3 years in civil / dirt projects.
  • Experience in GPS machine control; industrial construction experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Software : Agtek, MS Word, MS Excel.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in construction or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience. 3+ years of construction management experience. Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search as permitted by law. Compensation section applicable to all applicants as required.

    Work Environment / Physical Demands

    Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds; standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, walking long distances in varied environments; vision and hearing abilities; repetitive motion; climbing and working at heights; long shifts (up to 12 hours) in varying temperatures.

    Work environment includes typical construction site conditions, cramped spaces, extreme temperatures, dust, wind, snow, rain, and loud noises; exposure to hazardous equipment; may include office environments. This position is considered safety sensitive.
