About The Position
Job Title : Radiation Therapist I Job Specialty : Radiation Therapy Job Duration : 12 months Shift : 8 hours, 5 days a week Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Entry-level License : Must meet eligibility requirements and standards for ARRT or CCI in cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty.
Achievable within 12 months of hire. Certifications : BLS Must-Have : English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Job Description : Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor / preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology services to adult and / or pediatric patient populations for aiding medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of various conditions, defects, and / or diseases.
- Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services in various settings including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient practices, diagnostic / urgent care centers, and remote outreach clinics.
- Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.- Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations.
- Utilizes a variety of specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diverse diagnostic, interventional, and / or surgical procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
- Conducts post-procedure review to ensure all elements are completed and documented, ensuring technical quality is consistent with department protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems and prepares studies for physician reporting.- Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
- Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
