Job Overview : A law firm is seeking a Commercial Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join their San Diego, CA team. This position offers the opportunity to take a significant role in complex litigation matters with a growing and supportive team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, with a specific focus on construction litigation and employment being a plus.
Duties :
- Conduct legal research and write for complex commercial litigation cases.
- Manage all aspects of written discovery, including electronic discovery.
- Take and defend depositions, including Person Most Knowledgeable (PMK) and expert depositions.
- Engage in mediation and trial preparations.
- Represent clients in court and during negotiations.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client communications.
- Mentor junior associates and paralegals.
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives and business development activities.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
- Specific experience in construction litigation and employment law is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in handling multiple facets of litigation.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be licensed to practice law in California.
Education :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications :
Member in good standing of the California Bar.
Skills :
- Proficiency in electronic discovery tools and legal research databases.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
