Our Real Estate Solutions Team provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to commercial and residential real estate developers;

particularly those who utilize low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, or renewable energy tax credits to finance their projects.

As an Associate Tax Manager with the Mahoney Real Estate Solutions Team, you will assume a pivotal role in providing a variety of tax and accounting functions for clients, including :

  • Review partnership tax returns
  • Prepare Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credit (HTC) cost certifications and financial projections for low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, and other real estate projects
  • Proactively research, identify, acknowledge, and effectively resolve complex tax matters by offering strategic solutions to clients, demonstrating expert understanding of the technical tax rules applicable to partnerships
  • Work with internal team members to advise clients on innovative tax, financing, and deal structuring solutions for real estate projects, spanning from the pre-development phase to the exit phase
  • Consistently provide effective communication across organization levels internally and with various clients
  • Lead, manage, and develop staff while sustaining a dynamic team environment
  • Participate in professional, civic, or community activities

Our preferred candidates will have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; A Master of Taxation degree is a plus
  • CPA license (or working toward completion) and 4+ years of experience in public accounting
  • Experience in Real Estate, Partnership Tax, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and Historic Tax Credits
  • Prior experience with CCH software products (Axcess Tax, Engagement, Document) is a plus

We offer a competitive base pay range of $80,000 to $95,000 per year. During busy season, most accountants work 60+ hour weeks.
