Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to learn and develop the skills and abilities of a Pharmacist. All duties and responsibilities must be completed under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

The incumbent is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

1. Accept customer and prescription information, including refill authorization, from customers and doctor’s offices.

2. Fill customer prescriptions.

3. Assist customers with medical-related issues and provide healthcare counseling.

4. Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.

5. Learn Rite Aid’s computer system; input customer and prescription data into the system.

6. Ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy department by assisting customers and operating the cash register.

7. Remain knowledgeable of over-the-counter medications.

8. Review and understand the company’s policies and procedures.

9. Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.

10. Assist with cycle counts, inventory reports, and will-calls to customers.

11. Complete quality assurance duties applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.

12. Comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the Retail Hazardous Waste Program."

Qualifications

Education and / or Experience

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)required.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

Note to All Applicants Regarding Rite Aid’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy : Rite Aid maintains a strict policy prohibiting illegal drug activity and using, being under the influence of, or possessing illegal drugs and / or alcohol during the Work Day as well as on Company Property as defined in Rite Aid’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
