About the role
Vermeer Southeast is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to manage the designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure to support our rapidly growing company.
What you"ll do
System Design and Implementation :
- Design and deploy IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Implement and configure hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements.
Advanced Technical Support :
- Provide high-level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical problems that mid-level help desk employees cannot resolve.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues promptly.
- Implement solutions to prevent recurrence and improve overall system stability.
Maintenance and Support :
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure system stability and performance.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex IT issues.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
Security and Compliance :
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect company data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect data and systems.
- Conduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilities.
Monitoring and Optimization :
- Monitor system performance and adjust optimize efficiency.
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend upgrades as needed.
Project Management :
- Lead or participate in IT projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand and address their IT needs.
Documentation and Training :
- Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users.
- Assist employees with advanced technical issues and provide guidance on best practices.
- Develop and conduct training sessions to improve IT proficiency among staff.
- Maintain detailed records of technical issues and their resolutions.
- Create and update documentation for IT processes and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with non-technical staff to explain technical issues and solutions.
Project Participation :
- Assist in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or greater than 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role.
- Strong technical skills in server and network management, virtualization, business software solutions and cloud services.
- Proven experience with security protocols and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
