THE JOB :
As a Front Desk Representative at Vdara, you will welcome our guests, and by understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own the experience to create WOW moments and memories they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.
THE STARTING PAY RATE : $19.00 / Per Hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY :
Warmly Welcome Guests : Greet guests with a friendly demeanor as they arrive at the property and become a part of the MGM Resorts family.
Provide exceptional service by anticipating their needs and addressing any concerns or complaints in accordance with S.H.O.W. Service Basics
- Manage Guest Arrivals and Departures : Ensure a smooth and professional experience for guests arriving early or late, handling walk-ins, and managing all aspects of guest room check-ins and check-outs with efficiency and care
- Enhance Guest Experience : Improve guest satisfaction by offering upgraded accommodations when available, in line with authorized programs.
Promote M life enrollment and its benefits to guests to enrich their stay
- Collaborate with Departments : Work closely with Housekeeping and other departments to meet and exceed guest expectations, accommodating special requests and ensuring a seamless stay
- Handle Transactions Accurately : Ensure accurate posting of charges and credits, manage payments, and handle cash and credit transactions responsibly.
Follow property cash handling procedures to balance all cash and cash equivalent transactions
Ensure Guest Security and Privacy : Control and issue keys while upholding high standards of security, privacy, and confidentiality.
Strive to provide a relaxing and trouble-free experience from arrival to departure
Perform Additional Duties : Carry out other job-related responsibilities as requested to support the team and enhance overall guest satisfaction
WHAT YOU'LL NEED :
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
- Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE :
- One (1) year of previous guest services experience a similar resort setting
- Six (6) months previous cash handling experience
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Perception and awareness of individual needs and the ability to handle all situations calmly and professionally
- Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints
- Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
- Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
- Capable of standing and walking for a majority of the shift
- Able to effectively communicate in both English and Spanish, in both written and verbal forms
