Ultrasound Tech Per Diem Rotating Position Summary

Produces quality ultrasound examinations which are used in medical diagnosis and interpreted by Radiologists / Physician and may include : abdominal, pelvic, OB / GYN, Vascular, Cardiac, small parts and interventional ultrasound procedures.

SPECIAL SKILLS : Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff.

Proficient with general operating procedures, . startup procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting and problem solving. Basic computer skills

SUPERVISES : Functional supervision may be exercised over cross-training technologists and / or students.

THE ULTRASOUND TECH PER DIEM ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION : Completion of formal ultrasound technology training which meets requirements for certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : One year experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : Two years experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Must be registered within 24 months of graduation (and 12 months of hire). RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) required, BLS.

REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING : Maintains required CEU's to retain Registry

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / REGISTRATION : ARDMS or ARRT (with applicable sonography credential S’, BS’ or VS’).

Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs as prescribed by a licensed practitioner; assists with amnio procedure biopsies;

processes and files films as needed

Education :

Required : Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography

Preferred : Associate degree

Experience :

Preferred : 1-3 years

Certifications :

Required : Must be registered with ARDMS or ARRT within 24 months of graduation (12 months of hire). AHA BLS certified.

Physical Demands :
