What you’ll do
As the Network Engineer you’ll enjoy ensuring LAN integrity and security while skillfully managing a variety of technical questions from customers and end-users.
Your expertise will be crucial in architecting stable computing platforms, efficient storage management, and effective security policies across our organization.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing all components of our IT infrastructure.
This position has a hybrid schedule (TBD) on their onsite days.
You will also :
- Design, implement, and maintain company's LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, and other hardware
- Manage network security, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of end-user workstations, software, and peripherals
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Server, and SQL Server environments
- Analyze and resolve network hardware, software, and performance issues promptly
- Ensure network connectivity, data backups, and disaster recovery procedures
- Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and standards aligned with company objectives
- Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment purchases
- Monitor network performance, provide reports, and optimize as needed
- Stay current with industry developments and emerging technologies
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and staff as required
- Collaborate with management to assess capacity needs and plan upgrades
- Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, processes, and asset management
- Manage relationships with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors for products and services
- Perform minor equipment repairs, regular security audits, and system backups
- Provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to their development
What you need to be successful
- Associates degree in Information Technology (Required)
- Three or more years (3+) of Network Engineering experience
- Expertise in current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards
- Familiar with Network structures, security, and function, VMWare, NetApp, QNAP SANS, Cisco USC
- Versed in Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
- Understanding of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits
- A track record of providing excellent customer service
- Attentive to detail and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills verbal and written
- Proficient in training users of all levels to be proficient using computer-based applications
- Skilled in installing and reinstalling operating systems and applications
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Network printers and VoIP phones
- What makes you stand out
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (Preferred)
- ITIL Practitioner v3, Microsoft, Palo Alto, Cisco and / or VMware certifications (Preferred)
- Technical knowledge of Network and PC / Server operating systems, Telephone systems, including Cisco
