Responsibilities

This role will be leading a team of engineers in the development of solutions for Funding in our Finance Treasury Department at American Express.

The right candidate will be comfortable with leading, envisioning, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting secure software products, as well as extending or migrating existent software products.

A growth mind-set, ability to learn fast, prioritize, and make decisions within the scope of responsibilities are key to this role.

  • Excellent Leadership and Communication skills.
  • Requirements Gathering, Analysis & Design.
  • Experience with PaaS, DaaS, and XaaS.
  • Collaborating with team members to architect solutions.
  • Ensuring development team knows and applies coding best practices.
  • Leading code reviews.
  • Experience in Strategic Workforce Organization.
  • Ensuring software solutions have no security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring software solutions are resilient.
  • Leading and driving a secure software development lifecycle.
  • Expertise in latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Finance, Accounting, Asset Backed Securitization knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Operating Systems & Platforms : Windows, Mainframe, Linux, Unix. MVS, Z / OS, GCP.
  • Languages : Java, Python, Unix Shell Script, JavaScript (ReactJS, NodeJS), COBOL, JCL, HTML, CSS.
  • Data Stores : DB2, My SQL, Oracle, Hive, Hadoop, Cornerstone, BigQuery, Postgres.
  • Development Tools : Github, Putty, WinScp, Tableau / PowerBI, Hadoop, Pyspark, Hive, ServiceNow, ControlM, IntelliJ, Swagger.
  • Software Engineering Methods : Agile and Waterfall Methodology.
  • Excellent Leadership and Communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with data modeling and data engineering.
  • Experience with one or more Cloud technologies (GCP preferred) including IaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and XaaS.
  • Experience with the Testing Lifecycle, Unit Testing, SIT, Regression Testing, UAT.
  • Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI applied to coding and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ITIL.
  • Familiar with networking concepts.

Salary Range : $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
