As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a technically skilled and category management–savvy Category Solutions Engineer to join our team. In this critical role, you’ll enable customers to maximize value from the Nuqleous platform by designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex workflows and category management processes.

Job Summary

As a Category Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a key role in elevating the customer experience by supporting complex workflows, automations, and configurations in customer category management processes. You’ll partner closely with customers to understand their challenges, collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions, and serve as the connective thread that ensures consistency, reliability, and innovation.

This role is about more than troubleshooting — it’s about transforming obstacles into opportunities. You’ll translate technical details into clear solutions, empower customers to succeed with Shelf IQ, and influence how our product evolves by sharing insights with engineering. Along the way, you’ll develop deep technical expertise and grow into a trusted specialist customers count on for solving their most complex and mission-critical problems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Troubleshooting & Analysis

  • Partner with customers to review workflow and automation logic, ensuring smooth performance (e.g., conditional rules, data mapping).
  • Work with stakeholders to confirm data configurations and field alignment for accuracy and consistency.
  • Support customers in monitoring Shelf IQ data import / export processes, helping them achieve reliable and efficient results.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze system behavior and provide recommendations for sustainable improvements.

Escalation & Documentation

  • Partner with Tier 3 / Engineering by clearly documenting patterns and opportunities for system enhancements.
  • Capture and share troubleshooting guides, configuration records, and proven best practices.
  • Build and maintain knowledge resources to strengthen Tier 1 support and customer self-service.
  • Collaboration & Customer Advocacy

  • Collaborate with Customer Success to translate technical findings into clear, actionable communication for customers.
  • Advocate for customer needs by working with Product Engineering to improve usability and overall experience.
  • Join cross-team efforts to enhance data quality, streamline automation, and strengthen platform capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Track and share resolution outcomes, highlighting customer wins and opportunities for proactive enhancement.
  • Participate in initiatives that simplify workflows, optimize automation, and increase operational efficiency for customers.
  • Requirements : Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Category Management and Space Planning.
  • Advanced expertise in JDA ProSpace / Blue Yonder Space Planning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • High degree of empathy for customers and ability to advocate for the user experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving SaaS environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong data management and BI experience (Power BI, Power Query, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, VBA / Power Query a plus).
  • Familiarity with workflow automation frameworks, data pipelines, or system configuration.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Prior exposure to workflow engineering or automation-focused roles.

  • Ability to influence the product roadmap by bridging customer insights with technical enhancements.
