Bartender
POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a bartender at ESC, you'll be an important part of our customer service team, reporting to the Beverage Director and Lead Bartender, to ensure our guests enjoy their ESC Bar experience.
You'll greet guests with a smile as they walk up to your station and offer assistance with anything they need. This may be answering questions about our establishment, the fun & adventurous cocktails & beverages, talking about our beer and batched cocktail system, aiding the customer with a dietary issue, or escorting a guest to another department.
This role is ideal for friendly, personable workers with a passion for hospitality, great food & beverage, and a desire to share our vision of a fun & exciting experience with our guests.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet guests as they come into your station and offer your assistance with their orders
- Verify age with non-expired photo identification
- Follow drink recipes to maintain consistency
- Explain menu to guests with enthusiasm & descriptive language, be knowledgeable about ingredients in order to describe our cocktails & the thoughts behind each one
- Prepare, assemble, and present the drink for the guest with a sense of urgency while continually helping them get GREAT service & the best possible experience at ESC
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize service, while following ESC service standards
- Ring items as prepared and place updated bill in front of guests, closing out the tab quickly when the guests are ready to leave
- Stock throughout shift, while keeping a clean, well-maintained & organized station
- Be aware of potential over consumption

- Properly document (or ring in) all loss, breakage, spoilage & waste
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Perform all duties in accordance with established safety procedures and with minimal supervision
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum 2 years bartending experience in a restaurant, hotel or cocktail bar required
- Clear knowledge of spirits, wine & beer. Classic cocktail knowledge a plus
- Strong work ethic & personal integrity, as well as effective time management skills
- Ability to read labels, directions, recipes, etc
- Must be able to communicate effectively for scheduling and training purposes
- Must be able to change kegs and remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Ability to work lunch or dinner, weekends and some holidays are required
- Must be a team player, committed to working in a quality environment
