POSITION SUMMARYService Assistants are responsible for providing a clean and pleasant dining experience by clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables, and ensuring all areas are well-stocked and tidy.

The Service Assistant directly supports servers and / or bartenders during service, performing any tasks necessary to ensure a high-quality guest experience.

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSStrong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guestservice skills1+ year experience as a Busser or Runner in afast-paced, high-volume service environment preferred and / or equivalentrelevant experienceAbility to consistently deliver high-quality guestexperiences, exceed guest expectations, and strive to create a memorableexperience at every City Winery visitAbility to navigate venue conditions, including tightspaces, dark room and loud environmentPolished presentationAbility to take direction from othersEffective communication and interpersonal skills with aproven ability to build positive relationships with people in the scope ofemploymentAptitude to resolve problemsAbility to work both independently and in a teamenvironmentAbility to work a flexible schedule including days,nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to perform physical requirements of the roleincluding standing / walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling,pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 poundsRESPONSIBILITIESProvide guest hospitality;
• clear, clean, and replenishtables, settings, and all service areas; remove courses as completed anddeliver to kitchen; replenish utensils;

refill water glasses; remain alertto guest needs at all needsProvide assistance to waitstaff and bartenders asneeded to perform guest related dutiesEnsure polished and clean presentation of all areasPrepare dining rooms for patrons by cleaning, settingnapkins, service plates, water bottles, and utensils.

Perform opening andclosing duties including set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the areawithin the allotted timeframe not to exceed 20% or maximum of 2 hours ofthe scheduled shift timeSupport servers by setting-up and replenishing servicestations, trash containers liners, and bus stationsMaintain service areas, clean up spills as neededFulfill guest dining requests as needed and facilitatecommunication of guest requests to serversMake every effort to meet guest’s needs by eitherobtaining requested items for guest or communicating needs to server ormanagement teamGreet guests upon seating and fill water glassesAdhere to sanitation and safety policiesFollow all company policies, procedures, and guidelinesincluding being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform, withneat and presentable appearance.
