Warehouse Manager (Tucson, Arizona)
Semperit America's is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager who will be responsible for a 10,000 sq ft facility that will receive uncured splice components from our Polish factory.
Inventory will need to be properly managed for both ease of identity and shelf life quality aspects. Splice components will be value added to and converted into "laminated" Splice Kits for our North American and South American customers.
The individual will need to be trained in the storage, handling, and shipping of dangerous goods as rubber solution used in splicing falls under this category.
A good practical and technical aptitude is required, and the individual must be safely able to use a Stanley knife to cut and size the uncured rubber components.
A clean and tidy approach to work is essential, and familiarity with 5S principles to drive and lead good practice in both the workshop and office environment is ideal.
The ability to work independently and organize work schedules of others is also desirable. The person will be the primary contact for other internal Semperit colleagues as required and will maintain daily contact with the Customer Service department to process and prioritize new orders and existing orders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise all warehouse and shop personnel.
- Lead staff in a manner that will increase efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce the incidence of production and shipping errors.
- Maintain daily contact with Customer Service department to process and prioritize new orders and existing orders.
- Ensure that each day’s shipments are properly processed, and follow through to ensure they depart on schedule.
- Ensure that all urgent orders are processed in a speedy manner with accuracy.
- Keep track of inventory of materials and supplies and alert customer service / Supply Chain when low to keep production running smoothly.
- Ensure that any advance preparations for the following day are made at the appropriate time.
- Redistribute daily work assignments among staff if there are absences to maintain production priorities.
- Technical Claims Handling.
- Ensure high quality standards for splice kits and operate basic laboratory equipment (i.e., Rheometer).
- Train new and existing employees according to Semperit quality guidelines.
- Ensure all group safety standards are implemented and followed.
- Responsible for the safe manufacture of splice kits.
- Lead safety training topics, ensuring the proper PPE is available and worn as appropriate.
- Set daily production and shipment priorities.
- Manage performance expectations of employees, and where applicable, performance improvement and development.
- Ensure all company policies are followed consistently and fairly.
- Administrative duties as applicable for a Team Lead and / or Warehouse Supervisor / Manager.
Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience :
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on splicing and vulcanization experience, familiarity with all types of equipment and tools used in this process.
- Previous warehouse and / or site leadership experience.
- Comfortable interacting with customers, suppliers, and leading a team. Benefits :
