What you'll do...

We are seeking a strong Senior Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the modeling, building, and deployment of a large-scale dynamic inventory placement model .

This engine is critical for processing detailed inputs such as forecasts, network costs, and structure, to efficiently allocate items to nodes (warehouses and stores) across our network.

About Team : The Dynamic Inventory Placement team aims to build and deploy a large-scale automated solution for item placement and safety stock calculation across the Walmart network.

This team is part of the OneDemand Applied AI Organization, a group of impact-driven researchers dedicated to pursuing scientific and scalability excellence to ensure end-to-end optimality in Walmart's supply chain and store-warehouse network.

What You'll Do

• Model Development : Design, develop, and implement advanced algorithms for dynamic inventory placement.
• Data Analysis : Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and refine model inputs, including forecasts and cost structures.
• Optimization and Machine Learning : Employ optimization and machine learning techniques in inventory placement to improve efficiency and reduce costs across the network.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and supply chain specialists, merchandisers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration and implementation of models.

What You'll Bring

• Educational Background : Master's degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fields.
• PhD : Doctorate degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fields with 2+ years of experience post grad school
• Technical Skills : Outstanding skills in programming in Python, SQL / Spark; statistics, machine learning, and optimization tools.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00

Additional Compensation Includes Annual Or Quarterly Performance Bonuses.

Option 2- Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.

Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
