System Engineer - Level 2 - Splunk Engineer

Stratum Networks is a rapidly growing information assurance and cybersecurity solutions company that provides high-end network and security consulting to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients.

We are looking for a talented and passionate candidate who would support one of our clients located in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE AN ACTIVE TS / SCI WITH POLYGRAPH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.

Job Description :

Ensure the Splunk infrastructure functions properly with PKI-based authentication, corporate authorization services, firewalls, and SSL / TLS communications.

Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for maintaining data analytics enterprise technologies.

Assist with installing, testing, and deploying hotfixes / patches for Splunk app / product releases to manage enterprise vulnerabilities.

Assist with development of knowledge articles, documentation, and work instructions used by the Splunk, server, desktop and Information System Security teams, and Tier 2 / 3 Help Desk technicians.

Day Shift - Mon-Fri. Available for after hours on-call

Salary : $119k - $247k depending on experience and contract.

Excellent benefits package, including up to 3 weeks paid vacation and 11 paid holidays. Eligible for health care (single and family) immediately.

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree with 14 years experience or HS / GED with 19 years experience in systems.engineering.

Required Skills :

Experience managing user authentication within Splunk including RBAC / ABAC

Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Desired Skills :

Experience reviewing network, host, and firewall security logs

Experience with Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit (MLTK)

Experience with scripting languages such as CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and Python

Knowledge of RMF, Trellix ePO, NESSUS, SCAP, and vulnerability scanning

ServiceNow Ticketing System

Shell scripting to automate tasks and manipulate data

Candidate shall have appropriate certification in compliance with the requirements of the DoD 8570 Information Assurance Category IAT Level II.

Security+ or higher cert required upon submission.)
