Youth Hockey Instructor Duties : Under the direction of the Sports & Fitness Director, the employee will perform Sports activities (Specifically Street Hockey) and will supervise children of various ages.
- The employee must follow the Mission of the YMCA at all times and must follow all policies, procedures at all times including safety and risk management policies to ensure the safety of the program participants;
- Assist in coaching youth hockey practices from ages 7-14; Assist in developing volunteers with the intention of creating new coaches;
- Supervise youth hockey league on Sundays to ensure all YMCA rules, policies and procedures are being followed at all times;
Take active role in keeping track of and maintaining hockey equipment; When needed, officiate league games to ensure the safety of the participants Hours : Part-Time / Non-Exempt.

- R. Qualifications : Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age; Must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug / alcohol testing, health screening, and TB test;
- One year or more experience working / coaching with youth (large groups) in an organized (particularly street hockey) setting and of various cultures;
- Handle multiple responsibilities, and overlapping duties to best meet YMCA program objectives; Be CPR / First Aid Certified within the first 30 days of employment and keep current for condition of continued employment in this position;
Ability to have transportation to all assigned work sites when scheduled to work. If designated as a YMCA Business Driver, the employee must possess a valid / current CA Driver'sLicense or other valid state driver's license and mustprovide to the Y proof of minimum CA vehicle insurance coverage upon request & must also maintain an approved / acceptable driving record.
