Full Stack Engineer

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a startup environment
• Proficiency in React, React Query, Typescript, and UI component development
• Experience working with a Product Designer, utilizing design systems and global components
• Proficiency in NodeJS / Express, MongoDB, and AWS
• Thrives in a fast-paced and occasionally ambiguous environment
• Strong communication skills, capable of holding technical conversations and positively challenging others
• Prior experience building quality tests using Jest or a similar framework
• Passion for creating products that resonate with users

Responsibilities

• We are in search of a seasoned full-stack engineer who excels in an independent setting, values ownership, and relishes addressing customer-facing product challenges
• Reporting directly to the CTO, you will collaborate closely with our Product team, participating in requirements discussions, and taking charge of the entire product design and implementation process
• Enhance the developer experience of our API, lead launches of new fintech products, and enhance the user experience of our platform
• Spearhead improvements to our tax management stack, streamline payroll migration processes, and strategize scaling services and infrastructure for large enterprise customers
• Collaborate with the Product team and founders to comprehend user pain points and lead the implementation of design changes and features
• Create technical specifications based on product requirements through collaborative discussions with fellow engineers, validating recommendations when necessary
• Implement REST APIs, update DB schemas, and work within our NodeJS / Express backend
• Ensure high-quality products through comprehensive testing and address enterprise readiness by tackling scalability, security, and performance bottlenecks
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in alignment with priority
• Direct involvement with end-users, close collaboration with design and product teams, and influence over product development and deployment
