Henry Scharf. In addition to research, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity to develop pedagogical skills by teaching one course per year under the guidance / mentorship of the supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work in collaboration with Henry Scharf to develop statistical models for the joint movements of multiple individuals observed via drone imagery.
Challenges include accounting for latent social structure, temporal dependence, censoring / missing values, large data sets, and computational challenges associated with existing methodology.
A primary goal of the work is facilitating ongoing use of methods by non-statisticians via well-documented, robust software.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also have the opportunity to expand their teaching experience and skills by teaching one course per year, with mentorship and support provided by Henry Scharf and the Department of Mathematics' postdoctoral program.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate / graduate students if interested.
Minimum Qualifications
- A in Statistics, Mathematics, Ecological discipline, or related field. The selected candidate must have a conferred upon hire.
- Experience in high-performance computing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mathematics and statistics
- Coding experience, particularly with R
- Experience with spatiotemporal statistics, Bayesian statistics, graphical networks, and related methods
- Experience with ecological / environmental applications
