Tax Manager purpose
Overall responsibility for all areas of corporate income tax compliance to ensure that all reporting requirements and deadlines are met in all jurisdictions where Merz is required to file.
Manages all transfer pricing requirements and other activities driven by international tax requirements and the global nature of the Company's business.
Federal Tax Compliance
Partner with third party tax consultant to ensure that all reporting requirements, including estimates and extensions, and deadlines are met for the jurisdictions that Merz must file in.
State Tax Compliance
Partner with third party tax consultant to ensure that all reporting requirements, including estimates and extensions, and deadlines are met for the state / local jurisdictions that Merz must file in.
Transfer Pricing
Responsible for calculating transfer prices for US owned products sold to Merz global affiliates, creating and maintaining required internal and US transfer pricing reporting documentation;
manage and review intercompany distribution agreements.
Financial Reporting
Tax provision accounting including year-end review by external auditors; review accruals related to areas of responsibility on a monthly basis for proper presentation in internal financial statements.
Assist Group Tax with tax planning initiatives as needed.
1042 Reporting
Responsible for reviewing and reporting all payments to foreign vendors. Including but not limited to analysis of US withholding tax requirements on payments, reviewing W-8 forms submitted by foreign vendors and filing of Forms 1042 and 1042-S.
Tax Audits
Coordinates and leads internal activities related to any federal or state income tax audits.
Tax Legislation
Monitor changes to US tax law and provide analysis on the impact to Merz.
Other duties as assigned
Participation in projects as assigned by manager.
Job related qualifications / skills
Education
4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
Required
- Graduate degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting or equivalent Preferred
- CPA Designation Preferred
Professional experience
5-6 years of relevant experience
