Paraprofessional Itinerant Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Grade 8 of the ESP Salary Scale (Consideration is given for Pre-K - 12 teaching experience on a state issued professional certificate)
7 Hours / Day, 10-Month Work Year
Reports to BCBA Coordinator
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma / GED.
Must meet Highly Qualified status (A.A. Degree, 48 credit hours, or have successfully passed the Paraprofessional Praxis Test).
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Verbal and Physical Certification or the ability to obtain this CPI Certification within three months of employment.
Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification or the ability to obtain this RBT Certification within one year of employment.
5 Day TEACCH Trained or the ability to complete this training within one year of employment.
Two years’ experience in school setting or working with children or combination of education and experience totaling two years.
Ability to lift between 30 - 50 pounds in specified situations.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Role Responsibilities
Collect, record and summarize data on observable student behavior.
Assist BCBA in training for school based staff specific to individualized behavioral intervention plans.
Assist BCBA in implementing behavioral programming for individual students associated with :
Measurement
Assessment
Skill acquisition
Behavior reduction
Documentation and reporting
Professional conduct and scope of practice
Assist BCBA and schools in delivery fidelity of behavioral intervention plans.
Assist in ongoing coaching, support, and guidance to school based teams in the delivery of individualized behavioral intervention plans.
Assist BCBA and schools in the development and implementation of transition plans of non-public and public students as appropriate.
Assist in providing safe and supportive environments for all students.
Assist with instructional activities.
Assist in maintaining classroom organization and a positive learning environment.
Assist with the use of classroom equipment and materials.
Assist with the supervision and management of students during instructional and / or non-instructional activities.
Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
Maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
Maintain Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
Other duties as appropriate.
