Job Summary

The Maintenance Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of campus maintenance activities performed by staff and contracted vendor services across all three Chandler Gilbert Community College (CGCC) campus locations.

The hired individual will manage work orders and ensure timely customer service and issue resolution. The Maintenance Operations Manager will ensure staff and vendors have access to the resources needed to fulfill responsibilities.

In addition, the hired individual will provide training and development of assigned staff through mentorship, training, and communicating job expectations. Essential Functions

30% - Custodial services supervision : Manages the college's custodial team, through supervision of custodial leads and ownership of custodial work orders.

30% - Manage the college's grounds maintenance team through supervision of the lead groundskeeper and ownership of grounds work orders;

assign activities and follow-up to ensure successful completion and coordinate all landscaping / grounds services.20% - Contractor / Vendor management : Provides oversight and quality control related to third-party college maintenance services, which may include maintenance and operations services, custodial services and grounds maintenance services.

10% - Building Maintenance Services : Manages the processes related to the maintenance and repair of building systems. Ensures that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with building codes, campus building standards and best practices.

Participates in the development of renovation, upgrade and new construction of campus facilities.

5% - Assist in the administration of the Facilities Services operations of the campuses.5% - Other duties as may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, and nine (9) full-time equivalent years of experience related to the described duties of this classification which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from accredited institution
  • Experience with coordination of multiple teams
  • Experience with work request, computerized maintenance management systems in administration of an M&O program
  • Experience with Higher Education Administration Systems including Public Procurement, Customer Service Interface, Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Experience developing and implementing management practices to evaluate operational performance and staff supervision
  • Experience administering routine, planned, and emergency maintenance programs
  • Bilingual English / Spanish

Special Working Conditions
