We are looking for a Controller at our corporate office in Irvine, CA to manage our Accounting Staff.
Position summary
The controller must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad banking operations.
Must have experience working in a high-growth fast-paced environment. Needs to be a detailed manager who can control independently working teams with extensive audit experience.
Must have a strong background in accounting, a service-oriented attitude, and experience implementing and scaling processes in a high growth environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing and monitoring Accounting Staff to determine that accounting functions are performed efficiently, effectively and in compliance with the company's accounting policies, processes and internal control procedures.
- Maintain records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and lead the successful completion of the annual audit.
- Coordinate the preparation and fulfillment of data requests made by external auditors.
- Produce financial statements and internal / external financial reporting in accordance with company timelines and business needs.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Support the development and execution of the annual budget and operating plan, and manage the capital spending approval process.
- Implement procedures to ensure compliance with company controls and processes, including segregation of duties, company credit cards, and other platforms used by colleagues to procure services and generate company payments to external vendors.
- Define and enforce key controls over financial and company operations, including appropriate segregations of duties (system and process).
- Establish, document, enforce proper accounting methods, and write accounting memos as needed.
- Prepare account analysis as requested during month end and annual audit.
- Support GL Department during month end close as needed.
- Collaborate with finance department personnel in improving existing and implementing new financial processes, technology solutions and internal controls.
- Ensuring balance sheet account reconciliations are completed on a pre-established calendar schedule and in accordance with company policies.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Skillset
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA preferred, but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven work experience as Accounting Manager.(director reports to this position include Staff Accountants and AP Coordinators)
- Prior experience with financial accounting software applications.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to achieve results. Commitment to quality.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and generate alternative solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, clients, customers, and the general public.
