Overview
HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Civil Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to become a part of our growing company.
The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, be a good problem solver, be efficient, pay good attention to detail, and be a team player.
HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many of the Valley’s largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed use developments and public works projects.
Responsibilities
- Assembling construction plans and preparing submittals for reviewing agencies.
- Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines.
- Coordination with Cad Techs and other design team members.
- Design small, basic projects or perform task oriented design of more complex projects.
- Research and conform to applicable city / agency design guidelines, codes and checklists.
- Research and acquire as-built info for the horizontal and vertical design to existing constraints.
- Layout developments based on conceptual site plans.
- Perform vertical grading design and earthwork analysis.
- Prepare drainage calculations.
- Assist with preparation of feasibility studies.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Ensure quality control and work with CAD staff to ensure plans reflect the project design.
- Perform various other design tasks under the direction others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 0 to 4 years of experience in civil engineering design.
- An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, or ability to pass the FE exam within 12 months of employment.
- Experience in land development or site / commercial preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred.
- Computer design skills including spreadsheets and scheduling.
- Capable of preparing design on most project
- Possess understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
