Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to diagnose the source of mechanical and drivability problems and repair or replace gasoline-engine parts and related components (heating, cooling systems, and radiators) of U-Haul trucks.

Primary responsibilities include :

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts.
• Overhaul and repair engines; disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts; reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and oil and lubricate engine and chassis.
• Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Requirements :

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
• Adhere to all local and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Education / Training :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment :

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals.

Physical Demands :

The work requires some physical exertion, such as moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
