Primus Aerospace specializes in high-complexity machining, assembly and integration services for the Aerospace, Defense and Space industries.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer investigates, documents, develops, and implements manufacturing processes and improvements.
They will be applying their skills and energy to process development, facility, and equipment maintenance, equipment development and more.

Requirements :
- Responsible for the new product development and current product improvement of process documentation such as work instructions, manufacturing procedures, checklists, troubleshooting guides, and assembly quality plans
- Reviews customer engineering changes and implements into production
- Transform engineering drawings and specifications into manufacturing plans for product manufacturing in a CNC machining environment
- Provide productivity plans regarding correct CNC equipment during the product development phase
- Optimize manufacturing methods and equipment used in part production
- Provide technical assistance to all production departments to meet division objectives
- Continually improve quality and productivity for products and processes within cell / area
- Provide technical support for safety and ergonomics within the area
- Works proactively in addressing potential issues and apply real-time problem-solving skills when working towards resolution
- Supports all aspects of the process in interpreting and clarifying customer product documentation, defining manufacturing processes and providing manufacturing support of the assigned products
- Provides key support of manufacturing productivity, efficiency, and quality, by leading and working within technical support teams to improve cycle times and reduce manufacturing costs and defects
- Leads the technical management aspects of new product builds. Performing design for manufacturability reviews and risk analysis to ensure that efficient assembly methods are in place before new products are released into production responsibility
- Expert with regards to production equipment, understanding how to operate, optimizing CNC machine settings, and optimize machine utilization
- Leader for product specific and site-wide continuous improvement initiatives / activities
- Supports quality department in developing inspection criteria, qualifying vendors, evaluating defects, and generating thorough and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementations
- Interface effectively with other organizations such as suppliers, purchasing, component engineering, and customer service as needed
- Adhere to the documented quality management system
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering field, or related degree, or 7 years of manufacturing experience with progressive experience in manufacturing or other job-related experience deemed acceptable by the hiring team
- Minimum of 4 years engineering experience in CNC machining, creation of job routers for CNC machining and assembly, cycle time reduction, and job estimating including product realization to the estimation targets
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills driven by attention to detail
- Strong DFM and NPI skills
- Excellent analytical skills using Six Sigma and Lean Principles
- Knowledge of quality assurance and control principles and practices
- Proficient with Project and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate with others at a technical level clearly
- Self-motivated, self-managed and a high degree of bias for action

Pay range : $75,000-$95,000 depending on experience
