  • About the Clinic : Higher Self Health will be leading a cutting-edge functional medicine and wellness oriented membership based primary care clinic in the heart of San Francisco.

Our vision for the clinic is to empower our patients to go beyond sick care and move into wellness by focusing on foundations of lifestyle intervention to promote optimal health and function now as well increase healthspan by mitigating the effects of aging as early as possible.

We also recognize that ultimate empowerment comes from not only addressing the medical concerns of our patients, but also full addressing their complex humanity by tapping into mental health, personal growth, and self-actualization.

Last, we understand that every one of our patients is unique and we use a team based approach to bring their expertise on themselves and their health goals together with our expertise in medicine and wellness practices to create a shared roadmap to success for their wellness journey.

Our care will be data driven with the inclusion of wearables (oura ring, continuous glucose monitors, etc), use advanced functional medicine labs (stool microbiome testing, advanced lipid panels, epigenetic methylation biological age testing, etc), and advanced biometric testing (body composition analysis, etc).

Job Description : We are looking for a multi-talented person to handle 3 different areas of responsibilities simultaneously :

o Phlebotomist and Lab Technician : Employee will be running the lab services portion of the clinic. Duties will include, but are not limited to : performing venipunctures for lab draws as well as running non-blood draw related lab services such as including vaccine administration, basic medication administration, swab collection, administering in office testing for non-blood related tests, counseling patients on how to complete lab tests, obtaining vitals and EKGs, etc.

Another key part of these direct patient care duties is creating a safe and welcoming environment for the patient to feel fully present, heard, and cared for.

o Front Desk : Employee will be running the front desk / reception / waiting room. Duties will include, but are not limited to : answering the phone lines, handling medical records, patient scheduling, and providing medical admin support including obtaining prior authorizations from insurance, insurance benefit checks, answering basic administrative questions about the practice from patients.

Front desk duties will also require excellent customer service skills where patients feel that they are being fully taken care of both in person and over digital communication

o Practice Manager : Employee will be responsible for basic day-to-day operations of the clinic. Duties will include, but are not limited to : ordering, monitoring and maintaining inventory for clinic supplies, opening and closing the office, working with contractors such as plumbers or cleaning services to keep the practice in good working order, and working with Dr.

Valette to implement quality improvement projects about any observed gaps in supporting patient needs or potential efficiency boosters for the clinic and its operating procedures

Requirements for applicants :

o Active and valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification

o Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician

o Minimum 1 year of experience working in a medical administrative role

o Minimum 1 year of experience working as a practice / office manager or other supervisory administrative role

o High School Diploma or equivalent

o High EQ, professionalism, and strong customer service skills

o Desired :

Experience with extended scope care including but not limited to non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs / ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs preferred

Experience with designing and improving systems / operations

Ability to appropriately triage / prioritize a multitude of tasks from different workflows.

  • Reporting Responsibilities : This position reports directly to Jean Pierre Valette MD, Owner and sole physician of the clinic
  • Compensation : Salaried. Range is $58,240-$72,800 commensurate with prior experience
  • Hours : Must be in clinic the following hours : Monday-Thursday 8 : 15 AM-5 : 15PM with 30 min lunch break, Friday 8AM-1PM in office.

Expectation will be for a maximum of 3 hours of remote administrative work
