We are seeking a Research Nurse to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Baltimore, MD. This is an on-site position.
The schedule for this position is 1st shift and Sunday-Thursday.

TASKS / SERVICES :
- Perform basic procedures including specimen collection, venipuncture, EKGs, IV insertion, and vital signs checks.
- Observe and ensure the safety of human subjects during procedures and report concerns to researchers or medical staff.
- Assist patients and research participants with activities of daily living as needed.
- Clean and sanitize patient environments and prepare patients for testing and medical procedures.
- Reinforce policies and procedures to research participants as directed by researchers or medical staff.
- Assist with prescribed interventions as directed and provide clear documentation and directions to patients for self-managed treatment and activities.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist staff with specialized procedures and diagnostic exams.
- Administer prescribed medications orally or intravenously as directed and chart in the medical record.
- Assist with equipment testing and coordinate maintenance as necessary.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Participate in weekly conference sessions to evaluate participants’ data.
- Participate in the development of diagnostic interviews with the principal investigator.
- Administer diagnostic and clinical interviews, preparing summaries in support of research protocols.
- Work with researchers and medical staff on transporting patients, specimens, equipment, and supplies, generating tracking labels for samples prior to submission.
REQUIREMENTS
- Documentation (licensure) of current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Licenced Practical Nurse in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical research experience, preferred.
