Physician - Internal Medicine Primary Care - Big Rapids, MI

Big Rapids Family Medicine is looking for a Physician Assistant or a Family Nurse Practitioner to join their busy practices serving patients across the generations.

As we care for patients of all ages, we cannot consider Adult / Gerontology trained Nurse Practitioners. We are seeking someone willing and able to float to both practices seeing same-day patients.

Practice currently has a mix of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Team-based care is supplemented with Behavioral Health, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and experienced medical assistants working one-to-one with the providers.

Ancillary services such as laboratory, x-ray, PT / OT, and specialty care are available on-site in Big Rapids.

Job SummaryThe physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients.Essential Functions

• Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients / significant others.
• Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
• Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
• Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
• Evaluates patients' / significant others' / staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
• Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.

Acts as a patient / family advocate.

Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development / application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.

Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor's Degree
• LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-DEA Registration - STATE MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
