Summary :
As part of our strategic plan to expand research and application of computational biology and artificial intelligence, we are seeking highly motivated early-stage faculty recruits (at the Assistant Professor level) with track records in computational and systems biology, data science, machine learning / artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, and other relevant disciplines.
We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in developing and applying computational and machine-learning methods to advance drug discovery.
An optimal candidate is expected to collaborate with other Sanford Burnham Prebys researchers and to mentor and train the next generation of computational biologists.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a ground-breaking research program addressing fundamental questions in biomedical sciences and drug discovery.
However, they should be equally interested in seeking opportunities to translate their findings into potential prognostic, diagnostic, and therapeutic applications for various human diseases.
Our faculty is expected to secure support from diverse funding sources to establish rigorous and competitive research programs to address unmet medical needs.
Required experience :
Faculty positions require a Ph.D. or M.D. / Ph.D. and an outstanding record of research accomplishments relevant to the focus areas, specifically computational biology and artificial intelligence.
Compensation :
The Expected Hiring Range for this role is $140K - $160K commensurate with skills and experience.
