Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
The Control System Engineer will be responsible for engineering oversight and support for control system upgrades and retrofits, as well as support site control system modifications and changes.
The Control System Engineer will work with site personnel and vendors as necessary for job completion.
This job will be based out of Calpine’s Pasadena, TX office with expected travel to plant sites and vendor offices as project needs dictate.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Seasoned professional; typically requires 5+ years’ experience.
- Experience with project management, including scope and schedule delineation, with oversight and coordination between groups and disciplines.
- Has experience with control systems used in combustion turbine, and combined cycle power generation, including Balance of Plant (BOP) and turbine controls.
- Must have technical knowledge of combined cycle power plant operation.
- Must have an exceptional understanding of process controls and instrumentation, including control system network and link design and interfacing.
- Has strong supervisory and leadership skills, able to work and coordinate among multiple project and engineering groups.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
